"Tap That"
"Stay" -

The funky lead single “Tap That”, is a perfect blend of R&B and rhythm destined for multi format airplay. Expect this debut single to become this year’s hit. II Chance is co-produced by Hamza Lee (producer of the multiplatinum group, Color Me Badd.) Hamza met Mike Murphy and was blown away with his talent, diligent work ethic and incredible vocals. In addition, friend and co-producer, Jason Daylrimple is featured on several of the tracks. Hamza Lee (Color Me Badd) knocks out a hit song with “Tap That” which introduces feisty female rapper, "Eternity" who is also the inspiration for “Tap That”.

A second version of the track features Ms. Roq. (Dr. Dre, reknown producer of "CHRONIC 2000"). II Chance features a remix of “Tap That” by Keith Shocklee, (formerly from the infamous "Bomb Squad" & Vic Flowers from House of Tray), a remix that can stand on its own, but together represent an impressive debut for this singer, songwriter and producer Mike Murphy. Murphy, who by the way is the son of a preacher man, grew up in Canton, Ohio, where he began singing as a kid in his father’s church. There he gained a respect and love for music, which included everything from Gospel to Soul and R&B. The song “ Stay”, showcases Murphy’s vocal ability and his emotional side. “My music is a refreshing collection of sincere emotion,” Murphy says, “I cover topics like pain, love, libido, and how we cope with these things.

A singer, a songwriter, a soldier. Mike Murphy joined the United States Armed Forces as a teenager and was stationed in Fort Polk, Louisiana. He was deployed to Bosnia during that country's unrest. While enlisted, Murphy also toured the U.S. as a singer. He was hand picked by Army Entertainment to sing for the troops. "It was a humbling experience to be an Army Entertainer," Murphy says, "I had to pay my dues."

Now that he has paid his dues, Mike Murphy is armed and ready to take on the music industry with II Chance. The powerhouse debut single, from this new and exciting artist is due out in early February of 2005 on Vibe Records Holdings, Inc. in association with Lightyear Entertainment, Lp distributed by WEA.
